We are currently gearing up for our third virtual book group and we are SO excited!
This group’s title is Everything Beautiful Is Not Ruined by Danielle Younge-Ullman.
This is the story of a girl who must survive an extreme wilderness experience to prove to her mother that she has the strength to pursue her dreams.
Note to Parents and Readers: This book is highly recommended and is consistent with the Female Strong Mission of building confidence in middle and high school girls. We wanted this book group to address themes that arise in everyday life for our girls so that they can talk and learn together about how to process and rise above. The main character is in high school and at the Wilderness Camp she is presented with themes that are certainly present for girls: drug use, teenage pregnancy, petty theft and suicide. We are excited to partner with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Book Club to deliver our next book group.
You will not want to miss this book group starting the week of October 12 and meeting once per week through the week of November 16. 5 pm – 6pm CST. Day of week and the book to be discussed to be announced in early September.
