We would like to introduce the co-founders of Chill B*tch Doses, Gabby and Shireen, as the kickoff to our new weekly series, #WhyWednesday. Each week we will be highlighting a female leader alongside their “why” – what Female Strong means to them.

We are incredibly honored to partner with Female Strong this March for Women’s History Month. Female strong brings our community together for a common purpose: empowering women. Through their hands-on programs, mentorship, and experiences, their goals of building confidence in women is an inspiration to us. We believe that together we can create a unique synergy to help empower women to build their confidence to become future leaders without the stress and anxiety that comes with it.

What does female strong mean to you, Gabby?
When I look back on the journey that led me here today, I think about my mindset and the level of determination it took to get through the various battles growing up throws our way. I learned to embrace my potential and build self confidence from my parents and sports coaches, giving me the courage to take risks and aim high.
I knew reaching my goals wouldn’t be easy and there have been many times when giving up sounded best, but ultimately I always fall back on the mindset I was raised with – I can make this happen if I learn from everything, don’t let others get me down, and keep pushing forward. This makes me who I am and is the reason I have overcome many hard times. Many people – no matter what your social class, culture, or family situation is – do not have the opportunity to learn this at a young age.
To partner with Female Strong means so much to me because I know that it is a step towards empowering and encouraging others to find their voice. A step towards building confident, resilient women who don’t fear discrimination in their day to day lives. A step towards a more balanced society who accepts people for their mind and efforts instead of their gender, race, or upbringing.
I believe that together, we can make a difference. It is time we remind our future leaders that they are ALL worthy of happiness and success.

What does female strong mean to you, Shireen?
As a first generation Iranian-American woman, I faced many firsts to get to where I am today. Each of these challenges ignited my commitment to empower women, close the gender and diversity gap, and serve as a positive role model for all young women who share a similar journey.
My story helped me develop an early appreciation for the resilience and ingenuity required to make a positive change in the world, which is my motivation behind co-founding Chill B*tch Doses and building a brand that brings a positive connotation to the derogatory term “bitch”. It was an opportunity for me to be a leader and show my commitment in helping more women and minorities break barriers inside and outside of the business world, without the stress and anxiety that can come with it.
This is why I am so honored to have the opportunity to partner with Female Strong for Women’s History Month. I genuinely believe there is nothing more special, more beautiful and more powerful than being a woman. Together we can cultivate a meaningful community which will help build confidence in young women around the world so they can find their greatest potential and live their best lives.
